Booking & Cancellation Policy
This policy applies to bookings made through nordova.is unless a different condition is clearly stated for a specific product before payment.
1. Full Payment
Full payment is required online when the booking is made. Your booking is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed and a confirmation has been issued.
2. Customer Cancellations
- More than 24 hours before the scheduled service: You may cancel free of charge. Any refund due will be returned to the original payment method, subject to payment-provider processing times and applicable law.
- Less than 24 hours before the scheduled service: The booking is generally non-refundable, except where a refund is required by mandatory law or the cancellation is caused by Nordova Travel.
The 24-hour period is calculated backwards from the scheduled start or pickup time shown in the booking confirmation, using the local time in Iceland unless the booking states otherwise.
3. Changes to Booking Time
Customers may request a time change free of charge at any time, including within 24 hours of the service. All changes are subject to availability and operational feasibility and are not confirmed until Nordova Travel has approved them. Requests made at least 24 hours in advance are generally easier to accommodate.
4. No-Show or Late Arrival
If the customer does not arrive at the confirmed pickup point, provides incorrect pickup information, or is otherwise unavailable when the service is due to begin, the booking may be treated as a no-show. The customer may be charged the full booking amount and may not be entitled to a refund. Customers are responsible for allowing enough time to reach the pickup point and for providing accurate contact and travel details. This clause does not limit any rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
5. Cancellations by Nordova Travel
If Nordova Travel cancels a service, we will inform the customer as soon as reasonably possible and, where available, offer an alternative date, time or service. If no suitable alternative is accepted or available, the customer will receive a refund for the cancelled service, in accordance with applicable law.
6. Weather, Road Closures and Safety
Some tours and transfers may be affected by severe weather, road closures, official warnings or unsafe conditions. Nordova Travel may modify or cancel an affected service when necessary for safety. Customers will be informed of significant changes and offered an appropriate alternative or refund where required by law.
7. Statutory Consumer Rights
This policy does not remove any mandatory cancellation, withdrawal, refund or other consumer rights that apply under Icelandic or EEA law. Certain date-specific leisure services and customised services may be subject to statutory exceptions or special rules. The legal treatment depends on the exact service and booking structure.
